ANKARA PARK CITY

The existing mall in Ankara, Turkey’s oldest city, will be demolished and re-designed by Design International. The development offers a Carrefour hypermarket, two levels of retail, two levels of leisure including a cinema, 3 levels of underground car-parking, as well as crazy-golf on the roof!

The brief was simple; a striking design which made use of the impressive views of the area. The leisure element was also of significance. The client wanted to use the tag words ‘Transparency’, ‘Layering’ and ‘White’ in all aspects of the design and so a minimal and fresh look was derived from this.

The site is surrounded by mountains to the north, and so the team decided to capitalise on this by offering guests a leisure element which made this a focal point. With a food court which offers a balcony area, as well as a roof-top terrace, the design maximises on this.

The main entrance, from the outside will showcase super-graphics and transparent glass which will light up at night. The main foyer from this entrance will also house a stage which can be used for events, and which can be seen from the two levels above from a balcony. Ankara Park City offers 80.000 sqm GLA and 250.000 sqm GCA.
